Showroom
2019
team project with Nuria Archs and Mike Lovrics

Starting with the analyzation of the textile company Kvadrat, we created a corporate manual that could be applied to several spaces, and then we designed a showroom for them in Barcelona, based on these thoughts.
Our concept developed through material experiences, when we tried to capture the softness of the textile while mixing it with wax. We achieved a material that we could manipulate, with changing its original properties, the previously soft textile remained light, while holding its movement.
The base of the concept is interference, that comes from the idea of creating architecture for a textile company. Our experimentations let us to the conclusion, that we would like to create a space which is focused on experiences connected to tactility. When we put the idea into an actual space, we thought of the most obvious way to expose textiles, was hanging them. By taking this to a larger scale, we placed these curtains with just by a comfortable distance between them, thus the user would be forced to experience the material, and find his/her way through. Also, this is a good way for Kvadrat to put their new collections in highlight.
