Habitat

team project with Julia Gunther, Dorka Kéry, Flóra Offra

2022

consultants: Tamás Bene, Dániel Baló

We collaborated with Hungarian Habitat for Humanity on this project. Our aim was to design an affordable  30m2 pre fabricated module, that can be a base of a bigger housing unit, that consists of more rows and floors of  these modules.

In the last semester we focused on the smallest unit, and designed it ready to be built. These houses are built on site by volunteers, but the main elements a pre-fabricated. At the end we built a 1:20 model of the house, in order to figure out where the process could go wrong, and  re-designed when it was necessary.

One of our main goals was to make the building process volunteer friendly, so we designed pre-fabricated elements that can be assembled on-site with the help of a few volunteers and basic tools.
